Xiaomi Company will officially enter the Japanese smartphone market in 2020 according to some numerous recent reports. However, there is no report on the which exact models will hit Japan. The director of Xiaomi’s mobile phone product marketing, Xiao Zhiyuan, has confirmed this report in a recent Weibo post. Currently Xiaomi services are available in many countries and regions around the world, with outlets in Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, and South America.
In October 2019 Xiaomi opened its official Japanese publicity Twitter account. This shows us that the company will be arriving soon in the country of Japan. Other Chinese mobile smartphone brands such as Huawei, ZTE, and OPPO are already in the Japanese market.
The Japanese consumer market is actually kind of small and they have a huge liking for local brands. Foreign brands, especially electronic consumer brands, are pretty much more difficult for them to accept and dwelve in on. I guess you can say for them it is difficult to accept more advanced electronic products. On the other hand the Xiaomi smartphone company will try to start something for themselve in Japan.
In the mobile phone market, Japan once owned famous mobile smartphone brands such as Sony, Sharp, Panasonic, Sanyo, etc. However, the Japanese mobile smartphone industry was dominated by operators. After the rise of smartphone OEMs, Japan did not go well right here and as a result the likes of Sharp and Sony are now way behind in the smartphone industry.
