The Xiaomi Mi 5X is the latest Xiaomi Mi series mobile phone at an affordable price.
This time Xiaomi has a new product, as already often discussed before, the product is Mi 5X. Indeed, at first glance there is nothing that distinguishes the Mi 5X with other Xiaomi phones. The design tends to be similar to some other Mi series phones like Mi 5 and Mi 6. Then, what makes it special?
With Mi 5X, this time Xiaomi is trying to get back to its roots, by bringing affordable phones with good specifications. Indeed, although not necessarily carrying the highest specifications, at least Xiaomi still pinned the Mi 5X with elements of the Mi series which are known to have qualities above the Redmi series. This is reflected in the use of unibody metal material that we can find on this phone, which we will not find in Redmi Xiaomi series phones except Redmi Pro, which is the flagship of the Redmi series.
Talking about specifications, the Mi 5X offers details like a middle class phone. For example, in the power processing sector, the Mi 5X apparently still uses Snapdragon 625 in terms of system-on-chip, which incidentally is a power-saving SoC and does not prioritize fast performance. Snapdragon 625 is mated with a size of memory that is quite relieved, which is 4 GB, and is supported by internal storage for the need to store various types of spacious data, amounting to 64 GB.
The appeal of the Mi 5X is also to be improved by Xiaomi by pairing a dual camera on the back side of the phone. Interestingly, the type of sensor used on the Mi 5X turns out to be similar to the Mi 6, the OmniVision type (not Sony IMX386) which unfortunately Xiaomi is reluctant to mention specifically what type is used. Not only its components, the Mi 5X also gets inherited features from the Mi 6 such as Portrait Mode to produce bokeh photos like a DSLR camera. And the optical zoom function even though Xiaomi again does not specify how much magnification can be done.
In terms of power endurance, Xiaomi installs a 3080 mAh battery in a cellphone that has these Black, Pink and Gold color options. Finally, Xiaomi is selling the Mi 5X at 1499 yuan, or the equivalent of 2.9 million rupiah. The Mi 5X market target is not yet known whether it is only for the domestic market or abroad.
