WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature to let users search a message by date on it’s latest Web version.
This saves a lot of time for users who have long chats, as they can now find specific messages almost instantly. This support has been in testing for the WhatsApp iOS beta app for some time and is now rolling out to WhatsApp Web.
Finding Messages by Dates
While we’re glad that WhatsApp is working on new features more rapidly, it’s focusing more on mobile clients rather than the web. We’ve seen hiding IP addresses, animated avatars and more in the latest mobile versions, whereas nothing significant for their web app.
Well, as noted by WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing the ability to let users search messages by a specific date, making it easier and faster to find particular statements in the web client. This option appears as a calendar button right beside the search box in chat and allows users to pick a date to filter through it.
This feature is available on WhatsApp iOS beta app v22.24.0.77 and now rolling out to WhatsApp Web. This is extremely helpful for those who have long chats and have less time to go through it to find specific messages. Now they can pick a date and enter a keyword to find relevant messages almost instantly.
