Twitter Starts Sharing Revenue With Creators Generated From Ads

In the pursuit of rewarding content creators on his platform, Elon Musk announced revenue-sharing plans with users on Twitter.

Anyone can join this league – provided that they subscribed to Twitter Blue as the only eligibility. Enrolled users will see ads appearing in between their tweet’s replies, where the revenue generated from them will be shared between Twitter and them.

Ads In-Between Tweet Replies

One of the many things that Elon Musk promised after taking over Twitter is – content monetization to earn more revenue. If you haven’t observed, Twitter started inserting ads in more sections of the platform, including the home feed and replies to a tweet. And the revenue generated from these ads will soon be shared with the users.

As announced yesterday, Elon Musk said Twitter would start sharing revenue with users – who are catering significant traffic to their content. Terming them as creators, Twitter will share the revenue generated from ads placed in their tweet’s replies.

Well, there’s a catch – creators should be subscribed to Twitter Blue before starting to earn from the platform. Details on how much one can earn with certain traffic are still unknown and may be available soon when this program is widely available.

For now, paying for Twitter Blue at $8/month ($11/month if paying through iOS) isn’t a bad idea – as you would get a verified badge, fewer ads, priority visibility, and access to several experimental features. And now, adding a revenue stream back to yourself should make it more worthwhile.

Aside from this, Twitter has made a bunch of triggering announcements in the past few weeks – including the killing of third-party Twitter clients, the CoTweets feature, charging for API access, a font change for detecting the impersonators better on the platform, and a new version of Twitter Blue to remove the ads completely!
