T-Mobile responds to a news outlet saying this a glitch that resulted from a technology update and has been resolved. Furthermore, the company assured that there was no data breach or cyberattack on it’s infrastructure.

Several posts shared on Reddit and X reveal the issue as widespread and significant, including details like customers’ names, phone numbers, addresses, account balances and credit card details like the expiration dates and the last four digits.
Responding to all these, T-Mobile told BleepingComputer that this wasn’t the result of any cyberattack or data breach but a “temporary system glitch” resulting from a planned overnight technology update.

Underplaying the impact, T-Mobile said less than 100 customers were affected by this glitch, although there was a wave of customers complaining about this on social platforms. Also, T-Mobile said the issue is resolved now.
Well, data exposures aren’t new to the company, as it has recorded nine security breaches or data leaks since 2018. Leaked data from previous breaches include the customers’ PII and financial information, which put their identity and money at risk.
This year alone, T-Mobile was breached twice, with the first one leaking the sensitive information of over 37 million customers.
