A week after rolling out the One UI 5 to the South Korean Galaxy Watch 5 Series, Samsung is doing the same to eligible watches in Europe now.
The update includes many new features and improvements, thus weighs 1.7GB. Though it’s spotted to be rolling out only to Galaxy Watch 5 Bluetooth models, the LTE versions, too, should receive the update soon.
One UI 5 to Galaxy Watch 5 Series
Samsung is rolling out a much-needed software update – One UI 5 to Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro in Europe, after doing the same in South Korea last week. Though the seeding is spotted for Bluetooth models, the LTE counterparts’ should get it, too, soon.
With the firmware version reading as R9xxXXU1BWH3, the update has a download size of about 1.7GB for the Vanilla Model. And if you don’t see the update notification already, try downloading it manually by going to Watch Settings > Watch software update.
The changelog includes a number of features and improvements, as below;
- Check the battery level of all your connected devices in a new battery tile.
- Improved Buds controller tile to quickly turn on and off the 360 audio if your device supports it.
- Quick access to the timer via the timer tile.
- If you’re switching phones, you can quickly transfer all the watch data, like watch faces and apps, with a single click.
- Ability to set an album of pictures as a watch face and cycle them every time you turn the screen on.
- Bixby can now read the notifications out loud.
- Dictate text to your Galaxy Watch by pressing and holding the home button.
- Automatic detection and recording of your cycling workouts.
- One-click sharing of your medical information in a distressed situation.
- Redesigned Statistics page to better understand your sleep cycles.
- Personalised heart rate guidance during workouts.
- Universal gestures for hands-free usage. However, you have to register these gestures initially.
- Create folders to organise apps accordingly for easier access.
