After numerous rumors and leaks, Realme has finally unveiled it’s latest flagship device – the Realme GT5 – in China today. The device boasts top-tier specifications and is aimed at heavy users and gamers. Perhaps the most striking aspect of this device is that Realme offers high-end specifications at a significantly lower cost than other flagship devices. Let’s delve into the comprehensive specifications below.
Realme GT5 Specifications:
The device’s rear features glass construction adorned with four illuminated strips that activate upon receiving notifications. There’s a triple rear camera system alongside the LED strips encircling the Snapdragon logo. The upper portion of the rear panel exhibits transparency, lending the device a distinctive and contemporary appearance.
The front showcases a 6.74-inch 1.5K OLED display panel with a fast 144Hz refresh rate, supporting 1.07 billion colors, 2160Hz PWM Dimming, and a peak brightness of up to 1400 nits under broad daylight. Additionally, the device incorporates a dedicated X7 chip to enhance the picture quality captured by the device.
Inside the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a maximum of 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. These internal specifications are similar to those of the gaming-oriented Red Magic 6s Pro and the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro. A noteworthy feature of this device is it’s distinction as the first smartphone to enable users to adjust the CPU clock speed via the system settings. Out of the box, the device runs on Realme UI 4.0 atop Android 13.
Turning to the camera setup, the device houses a triple rear camera system comprising a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, a 16MP camera resides within a punch-hole cut out at the top center of the display.
Realme GT5 boasts a 4600 mAh battery that supports an astonishing 240W wired fast charging. An alternative device variant is available with identical specifications but a slightly reduced 150W wired fast charging capability, accompanied by a marginally larger 5240mAh battery.
Geared toward gamers, the device incorporates gaming-centric attributes, including customizable RGB lighting on the rear. Realme GT5 introduced the GT 5.0 gaming mode, along with support for a 2000Hz gaming cooling engine and AI-driven frame stabilization technology. The device integrates a 9-layer Ice Core cooling system, effectively managing the device’s temperature during intensive gaming sessions.
Further specifications include an in-display fingerprint scanner, IR blaster, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, NFC, Dolby Atmos and dual stereo speakers. Presently, the device is exclusively available for purchase in China, with the base model of 12GB + 256GB storage retailing for 2,999 Yuan or $411. The premium 24GB + 1TB storage variant carries a price tag of 3,999 yuan or $548. While Realme has not yet confirmed global availability, the device is currently on sale solely in China.
