Oppo has become the next original equipment manufacturer(OEM) to unveil a clamshell folding device, aiming to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. Today, the company announced the Oppo Find N3 Flip—a successor to last year’s Find N2 Flip and a direct rival to Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Z Flip. Notably, Oppo’s press release confirms the global availability of this device, extending beyond the Chinese market.
For those wo are unaware, Oppo introduced the Find N2 Flip internationally just six months ago, while Samsung officially announced it’s Galaxy Z Flip 5 last month. Now, Oppo has unveiled the third generation of it’s clamshell folding device, boasting several spec upgrades over it’s predecessor. Take a closer look at the comprehensive specifications below.
Specifications of Oppo Find N3 Flip:
This device retains the same design as it’s predecessor, along with other clamshell folding devices such as the Z Flip 5 and Moto Razr+. However, a notable addition to the rear of this device is the inclusion of a triple rear camera system. Notably, this makes it the first clamshell folding device to feature a triple camera system—a unique feature not found in other clamshell foldables.
Moving to the front, the device boasts a 6.8-inch AMOLED primary display with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate. This primary display is an LTPO panel with an adaptive refresh rate, dynamically adjusting between 1Hz and 120Hz based on the displayed content.
Perhaps the most crucial component of a folding device is it’s hinge and Oppo has made significant improvements to it’s hinge mechanism. Thanks to the zero-gap hinge, the crease on the primary display is nearly invisible when the device is folded in half. Additionally, a 3.26-inch vertical cover display is available when the device is folded, offering customization options and the capability to run third-party apps. This cover display has gained enhanced functionality, enabling users to utilize a wide range of social media apps, manage music applications, handle calls and respond to text messages.
Beyond the cover display, the device houses a triple rear camera system developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. The camera island on the rear, presented in a circular design inspired by the OnePlus 11, includes a 50 MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor, a 48 MP ultra-wide sensor and a 32 MP telephoto sensor. On the primary display, positioned within a centered punch-hole cut-out, there is a 32 MP selfie camera.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Two storage options are available: 256 GB and 512 GB. Out of the box, the device runs on ColorOS 13.2, based on Android 13.
Fuelling the device is a 4300 mAh battery that supports Oppo’s 44W Super Flash wired fast charging technology. Additional features encompass Wi-Fi 7, NFC, Bluetooth v5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that also functions as a power button, 5G capability, face unlock functionality and an IPx4 rating, providing resistance against dust and splashes.
The Oppo Find N3 Flip can be obtained in color variants like Mirror Night, Moonlight Muse and Mist Rose. At present, the device is available for purchase in China, with the base 12GB + 256GB storage variant retailing at CNY 6,799 or $932. Alternatively, those seeking greater storage can opt for the 12GB + 512GB storage variant, priced at CNY 7,599 or $1042. The company has stated it’s intention to launch the device on the global market soon, following a similar strategy to the global launch of the Find N2 Flip six months ago.
