OnePlus 5 has two cameras behind, one in front.
Looks like there’s nothing more to debate about this one cell phone, design? It’s been leaked all day, specifications? Already too. So what is interesting when part of a product has been revealed completely? The launch event? Yes, it could be, the product launch event sometimes brings its own atmosphere, especially for fans of the intended brand. In addition to the event the CEO certainly verifies all the specifications previously known to the public, there is one other thing that is hype or sensation that arises. By looking at the products that were introduced more clearly and the special spices of the promotional language from one or several of the company’s top brass, it certainly made a launch event still interesting to look at.
OnePlus 5, two words that have been endlessly hailed in the mobile universe since a few months ago, have now been officially introduced. As if nothing is surprising, a dual rear camera, a design that some people think is similar to cell phone A or cell phone B. Hmm, since all of that has been answered, let’s just discuss what Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus and colleagues conveyed on stage just now.
On this agenda, OnePlus mentioned that there are a number of focuses targeted to make OnePlus 5 the best OnePlus release phone to date, let’s look at each one.
Starting from the first, is the design or design of OnePlus 5 itself. OnePlus 5 is built precisely with the details that are taken care of properly, the placement of the buttons is thought through deeply in order to provide good feedback and tactile. Obsession with detail is the reason why OnePlus is so concerned about the little things that exist on this new cell phone. If you see from the appearance at a glance, you will see OnePlus 5 has a new antenna line called “Horizon Line” with lines that follow the curve of the back on the top and bottom of the phone. The thickness of the OnePlus 5 was also cut to 7.25mm, 0.05mm thinner than its predecessor, the OnePlus 3 / 3T. Later, OnePlus 5 will be available in only two color choices, Midnight Black and Slate Gray.
Turning to the second focus which is on the photography side, the camera is one of the important sectors and the main focus of OnePlus in developing OnePlus 5. Physically, we can see OnePlus 5 bringing two camera modules on the back side, each of which is 16 megapixel IMX398 type with mode normal / wide with f / 1.7 aperture and 20 megapixel IMX350 sensor with telephoto mode with f / 2.6 aperture. OnePlus also includes so many new features on the OnePlus 5 camera like Fast AF, Dynamic Denoise, RAW, Pro and Potrait Mode support to High Quality (HQ) modes. The features described above are strong evidence that OnePlus is indeed serious in marketing OnePlus 5 as a cellphone with a reliable camera.
Next is the matter of smooth experience, here discussed in detail what is contained behind the aluminum metal from the body of the OnePlus 5. The latest Snapdragon 835 is believed to fill the SoC sector combined with 6GB or 8GB jumbo RAM size, claimed to provide a smooth experience of glorious use. While on the accommodation side, OnePlus provides storage space with 64GB or 128GB options with UFS 2.1 dual lane types that are said to be able to process data faster than its predecessor, UFS 2.0. On batteries, the size is slightly enlarged to 3300mAh, this large capacity is fortunately supported by typical OnePlus fast charging, especially if it isn’t Dash Charge.
The software was the last focus discussed at the livestream event, OnePlus entrusted OxygenOS with its near stock experience display to pamper the users. Indeed, there is no doubt OnePlus expertise in OxygenOS dispensing, for the sake of producing such excellent performance, they do not include unnecessary bloatware in the system. However, this time OnePlus added new features that were claimed to be useful such as Reading Mode, Secure Box and Do-Not-Disturb Gaming Mode to increase comfort in daily mobile operations according to the situation needed.
OnePlus 5 will be priced at $ 479 for the 6GB / 64GB variant, while for a higher variant with an 8GB / 128GB configuration pegged at $ 539. For availability, OnePlus 5 will be available for purchase on 27 June.
