NASA is Coming With its Own OTT Platform, Web and Mobile Apps

NASA is making a native OTT platform called NASA+ that will house the content belonging to it’s space missions, space facts, live streaming of launches etc.

The new platform will debut in the summer this year with an original video series! And the best thing of all, it’s free and without ads. Besides, NASA is also making a website and an app with consolidated content information, with integrated navigation to find the desired content easily.

NASA’s New Digital Suite

To entertain the enthusiasts better, NASA is making a dedicated OTT app called NASA+, scheduled to launch this summer. It’s said to feature livestream launches and a handful of NASA-made original shows – all streaming for free, with no ads.

NASA+ will be available as mobile apps(iOS and Android) and web mode, plus third-party media players like Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV. Talking about it’s launch, NASA’s Office of Communications, Marc Etkind said:

“Transforming our digital presence will help us better tell the stories of how NASA explores the unknown in air and space, inspires through discovery, and innovates for the benefit of humanity.”

Besides an on-demand streaming app, NASA is also making a website(and another app) to house details about all it’s space missions, research projects and updates about the Artemis program. The agency already has several websites for different programs and divisions and it is often confusing to find the relevant ones.

Well, this new web and app experience integrates all these resources in one place, making it easier to find. There’s even a search function to find the relevant content quicker, says NASA. A beta version of this web is live, let your curiosity continue to excite and build up as the agency works to add more libraries and websites to make it even better.
