Microsoft Office 365 Apps are Coming to Apple’s Vision Pro

Aside from streaming apps, Apple’s Vision Pro is also getting the Microsoft Office suite at it’s launch, happening tomorrow.

The bunch also includes Microsoft Copilot, allowing users to craft emails, summarise documents and generate PowerPoint presentations using their voice. Furthermore, Microsoft makes it easier for people to switch between devices while in a meeting, like from their iPhone to Mac and Vision Pro and vice versa.

Microsoft Office in Vision Pro

Just a day before it’s official launch, Apple’s Vision Pro was blessed to have Microsoft’s Office 365 suite for users’ productivity. The Redmond company has today announced that Vision Pro’s App Store will have Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Loop and Microsoft Teams available on February 2nd – the same day Apple’s new headset goes live for sale.

These apps are fine-tuned to suit Vision Pro. For example, the Word App includes a focus mode similar to what we have on the Word desktop version and a touch-friendly ribbon interface. You can create PowerPoint slides on Vision Pro and use the app to practice presentations, while Excel can create charts and tables, analyse data, etc.

Microsoft also offers it’s Copilot AI for headset users to let them create drafts, summarize documents and generate PowerPoint presentations with voice commands. Well, Microsoft isn’t bringing it’s Mesh experience to Vision Pro yet, as it continues to do on Meta’s Quest headsets but promises to support it sometime this year.

Like the Zoom app on the Apple Vision Pro, Microsoft Teams will support Apple’s “persona” – a digital avatar based on your face scan to represent you in video calls, like Teams. Microsoft says it’s easy to transfer a Teams meeting from desktop or mobile to the Apple Vision Pro and vice versa.

While it’s good to see apps from Microsoft and Disney are coming to Apple’s Vision Pro, big names like Netflix and YouTube are missing out on the launch date.
