A few months after launch, Meta’s Threads is finally rolling out the search posts function, a highly requested feature.
Until now, Threads users can only find usernames through the platform’s search function, which is now expanded to include relevant posts, says Mark Zuckerberg. This support will initially be rolling out to English and Spanish-speaking countries, with more languages to be added later.
Finding Posts on Threads
Though Meta’s Threads is maintaining it’s hype, the platform lacks several essential features to be recognised as a reliable social platform. These include exploring trends, searching site-wide content, hashtags, etc.
As we wait for Meta to add them gradually, the company has just rolled out the ability to search for posts on Threads this week, as announced by Mark Zuckerberg. This has been one of the most requested features since the platform’s launch, as users are only limited to finding accounts through it’s search function.
Expanding this to include posts makes it more practical. This support has been tested with users in Australia and New Zealand since last month. That lets you search through the platform’s posts with specific keywords. This is now rolling out to the “most English and Spanish-speaking countries today“, says Zuckerberg, promising to add more soon.
Update the app to see this change, although you may not find the function going live for you already, making it a server-side update. But if available, you can see by typing a word into the search, it should surface a list of users related to your search term, but a “Search for” option at the very top will let you scroll through posts with that keyword.
