Meta, at it’s Connect 2023 event, announced about 28 new AI personalities, which will assist users in various queries across it’s suite of social apps and devices.
Touted earlier as the digital personas, the new chatbots are voiced by several celebrities, including Mr Beast, Snoop Dogg, etc. They’re trained on Meta’s LLaMA 2 LLM and can pull real-time data from the web to answer.
A Range of Chatbots For Different Needs
Though late to the party, Meta is coming with many AI chatbots for all it’s products. On the eve of Connect 2023, Meta announced around 28 chatbots for all it’s platforms, viz WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Quest headsets and even the just-announced Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.
Collectively called as Meta AI, these chatbots differ by their personality traits and are voiced by different celebrities as below;
Charli D’Amelio as Coco, Dance enthusiast
Chris Paul as Perry, Pro golfer helping you perfect your stroke
Dwyane Wade as Victor, Ironman triathlete motivating you to be your best self
Izzy Adesanya as Luiz, Showy MMA prospect who can back up his trash talk
Kendall Jenner as Billie, No-BS, ride-or-die companion
LaurDIY as Dylan, Quirky DIY and Craft expert and companion for Gen Z
MrBeast as Zach, The big brother who will roast you — because he cares
Naomi Osaka as Tamika, Anime-obsessed Sailor Senshi in training
Paris Hilton as Amber, Detective partner for solving whodunnits
Raven Ross as Angie, Workout class queen who balances fitness with meditation
Roy Choi as Max, Seasoned sous chef for culinary tips and tricks
Sam Kerr as Sally, Free-spirited friend who’ll tell you when to take a deep breath
Snoop Dogg as Dungeon Master, Choose your own adventure with the Dungeon Master
Tom Brady as Bru, Wisecracking sports debater who pulls no punches
Based on Meta’s LLaMA 2 LLM, these chatbots offer curated answers to user queries in real time. Their results are primarily drawn from the web, so they are inaccurate sometimes, so you must proceed with caution.
A sneak-peak given by WaBetaInfo on WhatsApp shows that users can interact with these chatbots for relevant support and even use them in groups. Meta assures that no personal data entered into the chat is snooped, as it is protected by end-to-end encryption, but the metadata will be used for training the AI.
While there’s no date on when these AI agents will be coming to everyone, Meta said the initial batch of personalities will be available to US users starting today, with more regions to be added later. Also, the characters will increase with celebrities like Bear Grylls, Chloe Kim and Josh Richards in the coming weeks.
