Reiterating that the high-end variant of the iPhone 15 Series is called The Ultra, a reliable leaker also noted that the iPhone 15 Ultra will support up to 10x zoom.
If true, this shall put the iPhone 15 Ultra in line with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, that has similar capabilities. Apple wants to differentiate between it’s Pro and the new Ultra model, hoping to avoid raising prices on these extra features.
10x Zoom on iPhone 15 Ultra
One of the most anticipated devices of this year, the iPhone 15 Series, is set to launch sometime next month. While there are several rumours on this set, the prominent one among them is the rebranding of the high-end variant – from Pro Max to Ultra.
Thus, there’s a lot of hype around the purported iPhone 15 Ultra, which is set to distinguish itself as a much better device than the Pro Max variant. Now, a tip from Andrew O’Hara says the iPhone 15 Ultra supports 10x zoom via it’s periscopic telephoto lens.
The iPhone 15 Ultra will have the larger display and the 10X periscope tele lens. Both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra will be titanium, have the Action Button in place of the mute toggle, and likely get the new 3nm A17 Bionic chip.

If this is the case, it’ll be an indirect competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which boasts it’s far-length zoom. Well, the fresh tip doesn’t mention whether the 10x zoom on the iPhone 15 Ultra is dedicated or a sensory crop type, but it’s assumed to have a variable zoom lens for two different zooms.
More leaks suggest that the iPhone 15 Ultra sports a larger 6.7″ screen, a brighter display and a bigger battery. Furthermore, the handset is also expected to have a titanium frame, an Action Button instead of the mute key, up to 8GB RAM with base storage starting at 256GB and run on a 3nm A17 Bionic chip.
Apple is also expected to raise the price of this high-end variant by $200 more than it’s predecessor, so it should be cooking premium features to prove it’s credibility.
