Instagram is testing a new sticker creation feature that lets users make custom stickers from their photos and other users’.
Further, the option will even turn these stickers into full-fledged Reels or Stories. Instagram head Adam Mosseri gave a brief demo of this and said users could opt out of letting their photos be used for creating stickers.
Making Stickers of Yours and Others
As Meta continues to imbibe new AI features into it’s wide range of products, Instagram is getting a simple sticker creation tool that lets you make stickers from your photos or those of others.
A quick demo from Instagram head Adam Mosseri shows the tool will select the subject of a photo, remove the background, and create a free-floating sticker that can be placed over other content. Though numerous third-party tools exist to do this, having a native feature is always good.
Mosseri says that users can not only make stickers from their photos but of others, too. Although, we need their permission to use their stuff for sticker creation. In such a case, users will be asked to opt in to make their pictures sticker whenever uploading something to Instagram.
More details on this feature are unknown, but it’s said to be in a limited testing phase, so we hope it widely rolls out to more people soon.
