How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S22 using Magisk?

In this article, we will show you how to root the entire series of The Samsung Galaxy S22 using Magisk Manager. Before we can begin, we need to do some things ahead of time, such as unlocking the bootloader first to proceed with the tutorial.

Prerequisites

• Unlocking the bootloader: We have already written tutorials in which we have given a step-by-step guide on How to Unlock the bootloader of Samsung Galaxy devices. You can check that tutorial if you need to learn how to unlock the bootloader on this device.
• Magisk Manager: This tutorial will work for the base model of the Samsung Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22 Plus, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, and the upcoming Galaxy S22 FE. The main requirement here is that you must have the bootloader unlocked first, and we also need to install Magisk on our phone, which can be downloaded via GitHub.
• Odin: Also, we need to have Odin installed on our PC, and then we need to download a copy of the firmware we are currently running on our Samsung Galaxy S22. We have to download the firmware file to our PC to extract it. Again, for anybody unfamiliar with this, maybe you do not know where the GitHub page is for Magisk, or perhaps you do not know where to download Odin; read our previous tutorials.
• Firmware: We download our firmware files for  our Samsung Galaxy S22 from samfw.com. Next, we took the firmware file we had just downloaded and extracted it’s contents, which gave us five files.

Follow the steps below to root your Samsung Galaxy S22 using Magisk:

Step 1: Preparing the Firmware File

Copy the file that starts with “AP” from the extracted files to your device’s internal storage.

Step 2: Using Magisk Manager

• Open the Magisk Manager app that you downloaded from GitHub. Tap on the Install button at the top of the Magisk section. Choose the “Select and Patch a file,” browse, and select that AP to the file you just copied on your device’s internal storage.
• Once you have chosen that AP file, tap the “Let’s Go” button at the top. Magisk will patch that file and give us a new file named “Magisk_patched.”

Step 3: Booting into Download Mode

When the process is done, boot your device in the Download Mode and connect it to your PC through a USB cable.

Step 4: Using Odin

• Open Odin on your PC while your device is in download mode and connected to the PC.
• In Odin, click on the Bl button and select the file starting with the Bl from the files you extracted earlier. Then click the CP button and select the file beginning with CP. Similarly, click on the CSC button and select the file that starts with the CSC name. Lastly, click on the AP button and select the Magsik_Patched file. It is that AP file that you patched using Magisk.

Step 5: Starting the Rooting Process

After you load all four files in Odin, click the start button at the bottom to start the process. The process will take some time, so just wait and be patient. You will see a green Pass message at the top when the process is completed and your device will restart on it’s own.

Step 6: Device Setting up

Set up your device like how you usually would.

That’s it. You have rooted your Samsung Galaxy S22 device using Magisk. You can check it by downloading the Root Checker App from the Play Store. Using the same method, you can also Root the Galaxy S22 Plus and S22 Ultra devices.
