Hide My Applist LSPosed Module, Block Automatic Updates on the Google Play Store

Play Store Developers Should Disclose What Data They Are Collecting

If you’ve ever been annoyed by the constant app update notifications from the Google Play Store, you’re not alone. Sure, you can block auto-updates for specific apps, but those apps will still appear in your update list. The problem? Every time you tap “Update All,” you’ll get a prompt asking if you want to update that particular app manually. In today’s blog post, I’ll introduce a foolproof method to hide specific app updates using the LSPosed Framework on your Android device.

Disabling Auto Updates Is Not Enough

Firstly, let’s talk about the conventional method of blocking auto-updates via the Google Play Store app. Although this method prevents automatic updates, the downside is that the apps you’ve disabled will remain in your update list. So, you’ll still receive annoying prompts to update them manually.

Installing the ‘Hide My Applist’ Module

The secret sauce is an LSPosed Module called “Hide My Applist”. To install it, open your LSPosed Manager app and navigate to the “Repository” tab at the bottom left.

Search for “Applist”(all one word), and it should be the only result that comes up. Tap it, then go to the “Releases” section and tap the “Assets” button. Now, install the APK file for “Hide My Applist”.

Activate the Module

Once installed, you’ll need to activate the module. Go to the “Modules” tab in LSPosed Manager, find “Hide My Applist” and enable it using the toggle. To make sure the module is activated properly, reboot your device.

Customize Your Hide List

Upon reboot, you’ll find a new app icon on your home screen or app drawer for “Hide My Applist.” Open the app and tap on “App Manager”. From this section, locate the Google Play Store app. You may need to enable the “Show System Apps” option to find it. Once located, enable the “Hide” option.

Create a Blacklist Template

Go back to the main page of “Hide My Applist” and tap “Template Manage”. Create a new blacklist template; you can name it anything you like(for example, “Block Updates”). This template will dictate which apps are invisible to the Google Play Store. Add the Google Play Store to this template and choose the apps you wish to hide. For example, if Google Maps and Nova Launcher are in your update list, add them to this template.

Verify and Refresh

After setting up the template, make sure the Google Play Store is using it. Some say a simple reboot will make the Google Play Store refresh based on the new settings, but this isn’t consistently reliable. The surefire way to make it work is by clearing the cache and data of the Google Play Store app before rebooting.

Conclusion

By following these steps, specific app updates will be entirely hidden from your Google Play Store, making your “Update All” experience much smoother. Say goodbye to annoying prompts and manual update confirmations!
