Google’s Voice app is getting a visual refresh to add a new feature called the ‘Suspected Spam Caller’ as a part of the Caller ID function.
When enabled, this feature will let users know of any spam calls incoming to their number and have them decide on accepting or ignoring it for good. This support is rolling to everyone where Google Voice is available, gradually.
Google Voice New Feature
Even with rapid technological advancement, we’re still able to see robocalls and spam texts incoming to our devices – altering our peace of mind. Well, in the pursuit of improving such spam call detection and blocking, Google rolled out a new update for its Voice app – that now has a “Suspected Spam Caller” feature.
To enable this, you first need to disable the default spam filter in Google Voice app settings. And as per it’s function, the feature will detect and label an incoming call as ‘Suspected Spam Caller’ if it seems so. This would help users in deciding on the incoming call’s potential behavior, thus we can accept or ignore it.
This is a part of the new visual refresh Google Voice is getting and will be rolling out to everyone where the app is available. All the calls that are detected as suspicious will have this label carry over in the call history section, too – letting you easily spot the spam calls in a bunch.
Well, if you think the number isn’t spam and important, you can whitelist it – which will avoid the number being forwarded to a voicemail directly next time. This will also remove the number from the calls’ spam folder automatically.
