AI Image Generator in Google Slides
Triggered by ChatGPT, Google has been bringing AI tools to most of it’s suite lately. The company has already created a dedicated AI chatbot called Bard and has been integrating it’s capabilities into all it’s products. Well, for Slides, the company has brought in Duet AI Image Generator this week.
This was announced earlier last month when Google noted the Workspace suite gaining support for Duet AI image generation soon, with Slides, users starting the public testing of this feature initially and as promised, the support is now widely being rolled out.
Opening the Slides this week will show a greeting as “Welcome to Workspace Labs” with a “Help me visualise” prompt and an option for creating visuals in your presentation. You can find the new option – a photo icon with a sparkle in the top-right corner of the toolbar that will let you create images out from text inputs.
Powered by Imagen, the Duet AI tool is fun to work on. Just enter the text and wait for 20 seconds to see the result. You can always tune this with more words if needed. To get better results, Google recommends “including the subject, setting, distance to subject, materials, or background in your prompt while avoiding figurative language”.
Once done, you can style the background of the output with several options like Photography, Vector art, Sketch, Watercolor, or Cyberpunk. Once satisfied with the result, you can drag this image onto the Slides to make your presentation more interactive.
