Google Chrome to Let Users Create AI Wallpapers

Turn Your Old Mac Into A Chromebook

Google is adding three AI features to it’s Chrome browser on Mac and Windows, that will let users create customized themes, group tabs and write texts in online forums.

While the writing ability is similar to the current Search Generative Experience, the other two are new and work with a few clicks. The Tab Organizer will automatically arrange tabs into relevant groups for easier finding, while the AI theme maker let users create wallpapers for the home tab of Chrome.

AI Features on Chrome Browser

Riding on the AI hype, Google is adding three new AI features to it’s Chrome browser that can enhance your browsing experience. One among them is the built-in writing helper, which can type anything you ask in the text fields.

This is similar to the existing SGE(Search Generative Experience) but extends to help you in writing business reviews, “crafting a friendly RSVP to a party” and writing posts on online forum sites.

This feature is still experimental and will come to Chrome next month. When available, users can right-click on a text box or field to choose a new option called “Help me write.” Well, the feature needs a couple of words or phrases to start with, so you have to initiate the writing. And after understanding your intention, the AI will jump in to help.

This aside, there’s a new Tab organizer to categorize your tabs for easier finding. To date, we have had to manually group tabs and assign a colour to identify them accordingly. Now, Google Chrome’s AI will do this curation automatically after clicking the new “Organize Similar Tabs” option, available on right-clicking on a tab. Chrome will also suggest names and emojis for the tab groups to make them easier to find.

Lastly, expanding beyond the built-in themes, Chrome will let users create wallpapers using generative AI. This is similar to what we have on Android 14 and Pixel devices, allowing users to make custom wallpapers with a few text inputs. Users can also select the mood, visual style and colour for customization. This feature, alongside the tab organizer, will roll out over the next few days in the U.S.
