Google has announced a bunch of new features coming to Android smartphones, tablets, and even the Wear OS-based smartwatches.
Some of these include a new Reading Mode app, support for sharing your car’s Digital Keys, and enhancements to Google TV, Google Keyboard, and the Photos apps. Further, Google has ramped up it’s security efforts with a new notification system to trigger whenever necessary.
Google Apps’ New Features
Enhancing the experience, Google rolled out new features to some of it’s popular apps – that’d soon be appearing on Pixel and Samsung devices.
Starting with Google Photos, the app is getting new collage styles from talented artists DABSMYLA and Yao Cheng, while Google Messages will let users reply to a specific message and even be sure about it by checking which message they’re replying to.
For the native Keyboard app, Google is adding support for more emoji mashups through the Emoji Kitchen feature. And for the Google TV app, users can soon cast any video from their phones with a single tap, and even use it as a remote controller for compatible Android TV or Google TV-based smart TV.
Further, the company is adding support to Google Wallet app for sharing your car’s Digital keys with others on both Android and iOS. And lastly, there’s a new Reading Mode app for letting users read any content without ads and in the way they want!
This app is capable of extracting the text from any app or webpage you’re reading on and displaying it without any ads or pop-ups. Further, it allows you to adjust the font style, font size, line spacing, and background color and even switch between dark and light modes.
There’s even a text-to-speech conversion based on the Android’s built-in Text To Speech feature that lets you choose the playback speed and voice languages too. This app is available for Android 9.0 and above devices.
