Fresh leaks of the upcoming Pixel Watch 2 revealed that the smartwatch has copied a niche Fitbit feature called Body Responses.
While it’s expected that Google might copy some of Fitbit’s features, especially after it’s takeover, it’s tuning the UI to make it a native Pixel Watch 2 feature. Also, the company has adjusted the Workout screen to showcase the progress in a much easier way, as seen in leaks.
A Niche Fitbit Feature in Pixel Watch 2
One of the most anticipated products alongside the Pixel 8 Series this year is the second-generation Pixel Watch, which Google teased earlier this month. While it revealed it’s design and UI, some fresh leaks this week show the smartwatch sporting a Body Responses feature.
This is one of the niche features of the Fitbit Sense 2 that measures how stressed you are now. It uses the device’s electrodermal activity(EDA) sensor to consider minuscule amounts of sweat on your skin, heart rate variability, skin temperature and other metrics to determine your stress.

The current Pixel Watch doesn’t have an EDA sensor, so we expect it’s successor to have this support to support the Body Responses feature. While it’s evident that Google copied this feature, the company is revamping the UI to make it stand out. The Body responses screen on the new Pixel Watch 2 has emojis to determine how stressed you are, making it easily understandable.
Pixel Watch 2’s Workout screens are also getting a revamp, as the new UI clearly shows if the users are on target with their heart rate during workout or not. Most leaks are showcased in the teaser video Google shared earlier this month and some through reliable tipsters.
As we wait for the official unveil, some reports stated that Google may offer the new Pixel Watch 2 free with the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro handsets purchase. Well, we’ll know more details about this when the company unveils these gadgets next week, on October 4th, at 10 AM ET in New York City.
