How to Disable the Security Notice Notification on the Galaxy S8 and S8+

You can follow these steps to completely stop the Security Notice notification by the SecurityAgentLog from ever appearing on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Depending on your setup, you may be seeing an annoying notification appear from time to time in the Notification Panel. If you haven’t made any modifications to the Android system OS, then it is likely a good idea to tap the notification icon and follow through to investigate what is causing it.

However, if you have gained root access to the Galaxy S8 or S8+ then you already know why this specific notification from SecurityAgentLog is showing up.

Android has a way to block notifications from most applications, but Samsung has disabled this feature for the Security Agent Log service. Trying to will only let you increase the priority of this notification and this isn’t what we want to do. Instead, we want to get rid of it completely and this can be done in about 30 seconds with a simple application. The app does cost $1.50 and I tried alternative free applications too. Those free ones required root access and didn’t even stop the notification from appearing.

Granted, there could still be a free one in the Play Store that does the trick. So if you know of one the please let me know in the comments section below.

Explanation

Again, I’m not saying this is the only way to do it and I can assuredly guarantee there is a way do to do this with ADB. However, the convenience of this application will be well worth the $1.50 for most people. If there is a demand for alternative methods (let me know in the comments below if there is), then I’ll investigate it in more detail. For now, this is the quick and easy method of how to stop the SecurityAgentLog Security Notice from showing up on the Galaxy S8.

So to start, we simply need to download this Package Disabler Pro application from the Play Store. When you open it up for the first time, you’ll be prompted to grant Device Admin access for this specific application. This is why it doesn’t require root access and proceeding with the instructions on the screen will show you how to allow this. Once that is done, you can go back to the application and you’ll see a list of services with a search box at the top.

Galaxy S8 Disable Security Notice SecurityAgentLog
Simply tap on the check box to next to the SecurityAgentLog option to disable this annoying notification.

You can go through and scroll down to the S section, or you can simply type in the service you want to disable at the top. So tap the search box and type in the word security. This will filter everything out except for the items that have the word security in them. Look at the bottom and you should see the SecurityLogAgent option. There will be a check box next to this entry and you simply need to tap on the check box to disable this specific service.

If you have the Security Notice notification still in the Notification Panel, then disabling it will instantly make that go away. It will also prevent it from showing up in the future too. If at any time you want to revert this change, then you can open this application up and type in the word security again to filter out all the other items. You’ll still see the SecurityAgentLog option and you can remove the check mark to enable it again.

Galaxy S8 Disable Security Notice Admin
Remember, you need to revoke Device Admin privileges if you want to uninstall this application.

This will let that service start up again and the notification will appear again (at a later point) if it detects something. That is all there is to it, however uninstalling this application isn’t straight forward. Since we gave the application Device Admin access, you’ll need to launch the Settings application, go to the Lock Screen and Security section, then go into Other Security Settings and then you should find the Device Administrators section.

You’ll need to revoke this access before you can uninstall the Package Disabler Pro application from your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+.
