If you’re tired of how the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge looks, then let me show you how to download and pick a Theme that you feel is best.
Color preferences are always subjective, so what one person thinks looks great, another person could think it isn’t good at all. This is a big reason why Themes and Icon Packs are as popular as they are on Android. Customizing Icon Packs and Themes weren’t always so easy to do on Samsung devices but the company is improving in this regard.
You’ll still need to use a custom launcher if you want to pick out a specific Icon Pack to use, but Themes are much easier to do.
Not too long ago, Samsung introduced a new feature for TouchWiz called Themes and the Theme Store. Instead of having to use a custom ROM like CyanogenMod, Samsung is now letting people choose a Theme they would like to use from their own Theme Store. Now, Samsung’s Themes aren’t as customizable and extensive as CM’s Theme Engine, but it’s definitely a move in the right direction. Today, I want to show you how to access the Theme Store and then download and apply a Galaxy S7 Theme that you think looks best.

Explanation
This is another one of those features that is easy to use, as long as you know where it is and how it works. Some might be scared to experiment with Themes because they feel it could mess something up. Thankfully this isn’t possible and even if you picked one you do not like, you can always switch to another one or even go back to the original, stock Galaxy S7 Theme. Samsung did a good job of keeping things safe enough for their users, while still giving them choice when it comes to customizing the look of TouchWiz. Veteran Android users will most likely wish it was as powerful as CyanogenMod’s Theme Engine, but it’s better than nothing.
To start, you’ll need to dive into the Settings application and then tap on the Themes option. If you’ve never messed with Themes before, you’ll be required to agree to the terms and conditions before you’re allowed to browse the Theme Store. After agreeing to the terms and conditions, you’ll then be required to sign into your Samsung account. Once you agree to the terms and have signed into your account, only then can you start to look at all the Galaxy S7 Themes that you have to choose from. Samsung does a decent job of organizing their store with preset topics and color palette options.
If you’re looking for a specific theme though, you’ll most likely just want to search. To search for a Galaxy S7 Theme, you’ll need to tap on the More button at the top right and then tap on the Search option. This overflow menu also gives you a way to access your Wish List, your Purchased Themes list, Announcements from Samsung and the Settings of the Theme Store. The settings give you a way to view the associated account, change the auto update settings, enable/disable password protection and the ability to add a Theme Store icon to your App Drawer as well as your Home Screen.
This is really handy if you would rather launch an application instead of diving into the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge’s settings each time you want to browse through or change Themes. I’m not sure why it isn’t like this way by default. Personally, I would much rather have an app that did all of this than to hide the feature away in the settings menu. Thankfully we have the option here but again, it’s one of those features that you would never know was there unless you read about it or spent time exploring the Theme Store. Also, don’t forget that when you download a Galaxy S7 Theme, it will be sitting there waiting for you in the My Themes section.
This can be found right next to the More button at the top right of the Theme Store. This will show you all of the Galaxy S7 Themes that are associated with your account and it will also give you some suggested themes to choose from right underneath it. I can’t say these recommended Galaxy S7 Themes are custom tailored to your preferences, but it might improve the more themes you download and the more you rate. For me(and I’ve only used a few Galaxy S7 Themes), it just seems like a random set of themes they want to promote.
If you have a favorite Galaxy S7 Theme, please drop down into the comments section below and tell me the one(s) you like best.
