Every now and then an application can cause some trouble so let’s talk about how to clear the cache and data of an application on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
As someone who is constantly helping out people within the Android community, a lot of the time I hear someone talking about an application acting up. This issue can happen after an update for that application has been downloaded from the Google Play Store. Sometimes these issues can happen after the person has applied a full Android update to their smartphone.
There’s even sometimes when an application just seemingly glitches up for no reason at all.
These issues almost always happen because there is something wrong with the data for this specific application. Whether it is the actual application data or even just the cache data for that specific application, sometimes you just need to start fresh and this is a way that you can do it without completely uninstalling the application. This is even more helpful for those applications that you simply cannot uninstall and not many people know that Bluetooth is handled by an application(called Bluetooth Share) and this is something that can help to resolve those issues as well.
So let’s take a look at how we can attempt to fix an application that has started to act differently. I am going to break this tip up into two different guides and the first I wanted to show you is how to clear the application cache.

Explanation
As mentioned, most of the time an application is acting up, the reason is because there is something wrong with the data that it is trying to read. This is especially true if the application functioned just fine but has all of a sudden started behaving badly. Technically, there could be some underlying issue with the hardware inside the Galaxy S6(like internal storage going bad), but more often than not the issue lies within the software itself.
So, to clear the cache of an application, you simply need to launch the Settings application and then locate the Applications section. From here, you’ll notice an option called Application Manager toward the top and when you tap that you’ll be taken to a list with some columns. Swipe over to the ‘All’ column and then you’ll see a list of every single application that is currently installed on your Galaxy S6. You’ll now want to scroll down until you see the application that you’re having trouble with and then tap on it. Once you tap on it, look for an option labeled Clear Cache and then tap on it.
Alternatively, you could choose to tap on the Clear Data button as well and this is something that I generally recommend if anyone is having trouble. It’s always a good idea to simply try clearing the cache first, just to see if that will resolve the issue. However, if the issue isn’t just with the cache then it is advised to clear the application data as well. I generally recommend someone tap on the Clear Cache button and then immediately tap on the Clear Data button afterward. This could clear any and all software related issues with an application.
Once this has been cleared out, go ahead and restart your Galaxy S6 and then launch the application that you were having trouble with. Monitor things for a little bit and see if this has resolved any issues that you might have experienced.
