Galaxy Z Fold 5 Leaks
Samsung is set to unveil it’s next set of foldable – Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 later this month. While the company has confirmed the venue to be Seoul, South Korea, it didn’t mention the date yet. While it’s expected to be the last week of July, leaks regarding the next-gen foldables appear periodically.
The latest in this pursuit comes from tipster Ahmed Qwaider, who shared the first set of hands-on images of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. These showcase the phone’s new hinge, revamped to leave no gap between the screens when folded. There were rumours that Samsung would adopt a water-drop-shaped hinge this time – similar to those in foldables from Huawei, OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi – that would practically address the gap issues in foldable.
Coming to the sides, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a USB Type-C port and a microphone at the bottom, and three more microphones and a loudspeaker at the top – making it a complete stereo setup. And for imaging, the handset has a triple rear design with an LED flash on the side.
While there’s no confirmation on the technicalities, rumours state the triple rear setup is led by a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Further, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is touted to have a 6.2″(7.6″ when folded) Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, it may have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB storage, GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and an IPX7 rating for water resistance. Lastly, it may have a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging.
