Amidst the chaos of it’s CEO dismissal, OpenAI proceeded to widen ChatGPT’s utility by expanding it’s voice chat feature to all users.
The feature was initially limited to paying customers and is now available for everyone. Tagged as a headphone icon, users can enable it to talk to ChatGPT and receive audible responses. Further, they can continue the conversation to filter out what they want ultimately.
Voice Chatting With ChatGPT
The iconic OpenAI product that stirred the technology world – ChatGPT, is expanding one of it’s important features to everyone around the globe. We’re talking about voice chat, where users can converse with the AI chatbot to extract desired answers.
Though the responses sound robotic, ChatGPT maintains the conversation flow to let users filter out responses as desired. This was initially available only to the paying customers and now has rolled out to everyone, for free.

Available as a headphones icon, users can tap it to talk with ChatGPT and get an audible response. A demo showed by OpenAI on X catered jokes from the community, as it indirectly related to it’s messy state of internal affairs.
The board of OpenAI last week removed it’s CEO Sam Altman on no “confidence” motion, but reinstated him soon after realizing his impact on the people. A day after Altman’s dismissal, hundreds of OpenAI employees wrote a letter to the board, threatening to resign and follow Altman in his next pursuit.
Observing this potential exodus, Microsoft jumped in to grab the opportunity and announced to take any OpenAI employee into their campus. The Redmond company has even formed a dedicated AI research team to potentially rival OpenAI and set Sam Altman as it’s head!
Well, all these plans collapsed on Wednesday after OpenAI brought back Altman as its CEO, and even shuffled the board to dump those who fired him earlier.
