Months after launching the Generative AI, OpenAI is now refining ChatGPT to include the latest information in it’s answers.
This moves is now available to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users and soon coming to the free users too. Noted as Browse with Bing, the new option will let ChatGPT search answers on the web in real-time for user queries, and present them accordingly.
Addressing The One Backlog
Launched in November last year, ChatGPT has shook up several industries with it’s generative AI capabilities. It’s impact is so significant that, tech giants like Google, Microsoft and Amazon have entered the race to make their own similar tools.
Though ChatGPT is a torchbearer of the generative AI industry, it lacked one crucial feature all this time – the ability to produce updated information. This is because the chatbot is trained on data sets up to September 2021, so it can’t answer queries after that period.
Well, addressing this backlog, OpenAI this week announced that ChatGPT can now browse for the latest information. This is possible with the new feature called Browse with Bing, that triggers the chatbot to look-up information on the web in real-time to answer user queries.

The new option can also cite links to their sources to let users verify the answers. Talking about this addition, OpenAI said;
“Browsing is particularly useful for tasks that require up-to-date information, such as helping you with technical research, trying to choose a bike, or planning a vacation.”
The new option is available to Plus and Enterprise users today and will be coming to all users soon. You can find this as Browse with Bing in the selector under GPT-4 section. While it’s a needed addition, this isn’t the first OpenAI has added this functionality to ChatGPT.
The chatbot in July this year added this support to Plus subscribers, but that was soon removed after some users were caught exploiting it to get around paywalls.
