We’re just a couple of weeks away from Apple Vision Pro’s launch, the MR headset is one of the most anticipated gadgets since last year. While it’s unusual that it may be embraced by everyone at launch, at least considering it’s price tag, Apple explains why it’s worth being exciting about.
The company today revealed the streaming apps coming to Vision Pro at it’s launch, which includes Disney+, ESPN, MLB, PGA Tour, Max, Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, Crunchyroll, Red Bull TV, IMAX, TikTok and MUBI.
Apple also said that users can stream over 150 movies in 3D at launch, with examples including Avatar: The Way of Water, Dune, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
With more pixels than a 4K TV for each eye and a high-end audio system, Apple promised that the Vision Pro will offer a rich-quality streaming experience. The headset has a pair of micro-OLED displays packing 23 million pixels, high dynamic range and Dolby Vision.
And for audio, it features Spatial Audio to each ear, Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio for high-quality listening, while keeping users aware of their surroundings. Apple says you can pair AirPods Pro(2nd generation) for dedicated listening.
Furthermore, the headset has a Guest mode to share specific apps with family and friends, like Photos or Safari. And with the SharePlay function, Vision Pro users can watch movies, listen to music and play games with users on other Apple devices.
