Months after launching, Apple finally shared the details of it’s Vision Pro’s availability, additional costs and accessories in the box.
The MR headset will be coming to the US first and ships in early February along with a USB-C power adaptor, charging cable, external battery, polishing cloth and light seal cushion. The Vision Pro dispatches with prescription-based lens, which adds additional costs.
Apple Vision Pro Availability
When the world is excited about generative AI, Apple revives it’s mixed-reality headset – Vision Pro, this year. The company announced this gadget last year and now sets a sale date for the US market.
Interested people can pre-order Apple Vision Pro from January 19th onwards at all Apple Stores in the US and Apple.com, with the units shipping from February 2, 2024. Apple said the Vision Pro would cost $3,499 for a 256GB storage variant, hinting at other possible variants.
While the company hasn’t confirmed yet, it says the users can order it in either of the two formats: ZEISS Optical Inserts – Readers will be available for $99, or the ZEISS Optical Inserts – Prescription will be available for $149. And to note, not all prescriptions are supported and they are only available to purchase online! These vision correction lenses can be magnetically attached to the Vision Pro.
Apple also further detailed what’s coming in the box, a Solo Knit Band and a Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, a cover for the front of the device, Apple’s Polishing Cloth, the external battery, a USB-C charge cable and a USB-C power adapter.
While it’s surprising to see Apple including many accessories in box, it should, at least for the eye-watering price. But even then, it’s still not affordable and may garner only a few enthusiasts initially.
