With the iPhone 15 Series gaining USB-C support, Apple could refresh the Magic accessories with the USB-C port, too, as noted by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
These units are touted to come alongside the revamped iMac, possibly launching next month. Apple is expected to add a USB-C port to the new iMac, too, to suit the updated Magic accessories, alongside sporting the M3 chip.
USB-C on Apple Magic Accessories
Apple has inserted one of the most touted features on it’s latest iPhone 15 Series – a USB-C port, which enables users to charge their devices with any suitable USB-C charger, similar to other devices. The company has also fitted the port on its latest tablets, AirPods Pro 2 and MacBooks.
As it turned out to be useful, Apple is set to revamp the other remaining accessories, such as the Magic series. This comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who stated that Apple would be updating the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and the Magic Keyboard with USB-C ports soon.
These updated devices are expected to launch alongside the next iMac, which will come next month. The upcoming iMac will likely go with the new M3 chip(hopefully), with USB-C to suit the latest accessories.
This aside, Apple is also expected to add USB-C to the standard AirPods and AirPods Pro in 2024, although the exact timeline for launch isn’t known.
Amongst all these, I’m pretty excited about the revamp to Magic Mouse, which for years had the Lightning port at the bottom, resulting in massive ridicule from the community. As Apple is updating the mouse with a USB-C, we hope to see if the company changes the port location too.
