Apple has increased the prices of it’s iCloud+ service in the UK and other regions worldwide by about 25% for all tiers.
The new costs put iCloud+ monthly subscriptions at £0.99 for 50 GB, £2.99 for 200 GB and £8.99 for 2 TB in the UK. Similar hikes were made in Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, starting this week.
Rise of Apple iCloud+ Costs
One of the many Apple products that people take for granted is iCloud, a cloud storage service that lets people save their files and media securely. Aside from storage, iCloud also has other features, like HomeKit Secure Video access, Private Relay and Hide My Email, that isn’t widely used.
Yet, the service is an essential element of the Apple ecosystem and is bundled with an Apple ID. Free users can get 5GB cloud storage by default, sufficient if you don’t have much media to export. But if you want more, you can always upgrade to a premium offering called the iCloud+, starting at $0.99/month.
The same has been available worldwide, too, on different scales. In the UK, the company offers 50 GB for £0.79/mo, 200 GB for £2.49/mo and 2 TB for £6.99/mo. Well, this is now increased to £0.99/mo, £2.99/mo and £8.99/mo, respectively. That’s an average increase of around 25%!
The same has been done in other regions like Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates this week. Though Apple didn’t mention any reason for this, it’s likely due to the changes in foreign currency exchange rates.
Well, if you feel it’s too pricey, get this bundled with Apple One suite, which costs even more but includes Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade in the package. The company hasn’t increased the Apple One price, though, so it’s still a better deal.
