Complying with the EU rules, Apple is reportedly refreshing it’s AirPods Pro with USB-C support in the coming days, says a reliable tipster.
This new port will eventually make life easier for Apple fans, as they may only need a single USB-C cable for most of their Apple products. The company is also working to add a USB-C port for the iPhone 15 Series.
USB-C in AirPods Pro
The AirPods lineup is one of the most successful products of Apple, garnering the Cupertino company billions of dollars every year in revenue. As Apple continues to flourish with them, the company was recently hit with new regulations from the EU that force modifications to it’s products.
One particular change the EU focuses on is setting USB-C ports for most Apple products, which Apple promised to comply with. Well, there are rumours about the upcoming iPhone 15 Series sporting a USB-C port and some iPad models. Adding to the top, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman states that the AirPods are in the same line.
As per his report, refreshed AirPods Pro are set to debut with USB-C this year, alongside the new iPhone 15 Series. After these, Apple will eventually bring the same compatibility to the future AirPods and the AirPods Max. This will significantly ease the lives of Apple users who own multiple products with different configurations.
Imagine having an iPhone 15 and an AirPod and using only one USB-C cable for both to charge. This single-cable policy has long been in existence in the Android community and the Apple ecosystem. Aside from this, Apple is reportedly working to add health-related features to it’s AirPods.
The company is noted to set hearing testing capabilities by playing different tones and sounds and using the data to determine how good a person’s hearing is. Further, Apple is also exploring adding sensors to the AirPods – to measure body temperature through the ear canal, possibly!
This may offer better accurate data than the current temperature measurements through Apple Watch and possibly determine a person’s illness. These features take months or even years to arrive, so take these rumours with a pinch of salt.
