As announced at WWDC this year, Apple is bringing it’s AirPlay to in-hotel TVs later this year – with LG being the first major brand to embrace this opportunity.
LG noted that all it’s recent TVs and the upcoming LG Pro:Centric Smart TVs will support the AirPlay feature, coming later this year. This will let Apple users stream their content wirelessly to the hotel TV, removing the hassle of pairing them via different software or cables.
AirPlay in LG Hotel TVs
One of the many things that Apple announced at WWDC this year is the AirPlay availability for hotel TVs. As we wait for it, LG, one of the major brands for TVs in the hospitality industry, has announced bringing this support to it’s fleet soon.
As per a press release today, LG Business Solutions USA announced that it’s upcoming LG Pro:Centric Smart TVs and the recent TVs will support Apple AirPlay soon. While it’s slated to add this feature later this year, other OEMs are yet to join the fleet.
When available, Apple users can use their iPhones, iPads or MacBooks to stream their content to hotel TVs easily and watch. Pairing this is even easier; users need to scan a QR code on the TV to connect it and browse their content to stream. There are no passwords or apps are required in the setup.
Apple and LG have worked together to ensure this feature is easily set up and provides a secure media transmission. This solves the problem of connecting your device through a physical cable or navigating through confusing TV setups.
