Google Photos is Getting a ‘Hide Clutter’ Option Soon

Google Photos

Google Photos is set to receive a new ‘hide clutter‘ option, that’d clear your messy photos from the home page for a distraction-free view.

The new option is not live yet, but the code strings pertaining to it reveal the feature will hide screenshots, chat images, memes etc from your Photos home page, for a clear view. These images can be found in their respective folders, when needed.

Declutter Your Photos Home Page

Google Photos is not just a place to view your media but an intelligent app for organizing your stuff. Besides the sorting and editing tools, the app is now getting a declutter tool to free up unwanted content from the Photos home page.

As noted by PiunikaWeb, Google Photos v6.79.0.624777117 has code strings for a new “hide clutter” option and description as “Backed-up photos like screenshots, GIFs, and memes are hidden“.

Hoping that’s self-explanatory, hide clutter is a much needed option right now, especially when junk is piling up on our device. Google Photos backs up a lot of media every day, including photos and videos taken from your device camera and those like memes, GIFs, screenshots etc.

These media files can quickly pile up to create a messy view in your gallery. Thus, de-cluttering them is needed. This aside, Google Photos is also redesigning the Memories page and even allows US users to get AI-powered title suggestions for memories, in the latest update.
