Google I/O 2024 Date Revealed, Registrations Opened

Following a puzzle this morning, I found out the date of Google’s I/O 2024, Google revealed the date to be May 14 – exactly two months from today.

While it hasn’t shared any agenda or the session list, it opened the registrations for interested people to be notified of the updates. The event will be live for a few people and online for everyone. Besides updates on Android 15 and Android XR, we can also expect the unveiling of The Pixel 8a.

Google I/O 2024 Event

Started in 2016, Google’s annual I/O event mostly concerns Android developers, with updates surrounding Android core and dev kits. But this year, we expect the event to attract both developers and consumers, considering the potential announcements around Android and hardware.

Starting with the date, Google scheduled May 14 for this year’s I/O event, which will be live for a few people and online for everyone. While it initially started as a physical event, the company shifted to a completely digital mode during the pandemic and later clubbed both formats.

This year, the event will be premiered from Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, where the main keynote comes from their CEO, Sundar Pichai, followed by the developer keynote and on-demand technical sessions.

Google is yet to share the agenda and session list of I/O 2024. Still, it opened the registration today to keep you updated on the schedule and content along with relevant developer news. You can also create a developer profile to get the most out of the digital experience.

Expectations from this event would be a bunch of AI features, mostly cooked into the upcoming Android 15, alongside an Android XR and possibly the Pixel 8a.
