Microsoft is reportedly working on adding AI features to it’s Paint app on Windows 11, backed by Bing’s Image Generator.
This would let users generate images from text descriptions and tune them later. Also, Microsoft was noted to add AI capabilities to Photos, Snipping Tool and Camera apps on Windows 11, making them more valuable and relevant to the current trend.
Adding AI Touch Wherever Needed
As noted by Windows Central, Microsoft is exploring ways to add AI-powered features to it’s Windows 11 Paint app, which lets users make images from simple text prompts. This is similar to what we can do with Bing’s Image Generator, powered by OpenAI’s GPT LLM.
Named “Magic Paint”, the new option on Windows 11 Paint app has a sidebar to let users enter an image description and let it create the output accordingly. Once done, you can drag that image to the canvas for further tweaks.
Despite several third-party apps doing this work and Microsoft advertising it’s Bing AI, the company is cooking such AI capabilities in most of it’s products. This aside, Microsoft is also touted to add AI features to Windows 11 Photos, Snipping Tool and Camera apps, noted Windows Central.
For Photos, the addition can let users identify people or objects in a photo and then cut and paste them into other areas and for the Snipping Tool and the Camera app, Microsoft may add optical character recognition(OCR) support – letting them identify text in photos or screenshots for further modifications.
While it’s exciting that Microsoft is refreshing it’s suite with AI, how the community would take it is still a mystery and since these features are still in development, we must wait a couple of months to see them in action for everyone.
